This article considers impact of education on the formation and development of Siberian identity. The author analyzes materials of the periodical press of pre-revolutionary Siberia and records of the archival funds of the Irkutsk Region State Archive. On the basis of the sources studied, the author concludes about the impact of education on the development of Siberian identity: identifies factors that influenced on the formation of regional identity describes features of this process and its impact on the development of the region.
