The article concerns a matter of a photo of the members of the Polish party «Proletariat» F. Kohn, N. Luri, H. Dulemba, F. Rekhnevsky and M. Mankovsky that was taken in 1866 on the way to Kara penal servitude (Kara katorga). The author studied out where and by whom the photo was taken. The research, done on the basis of archival documents, stored in the State Archive of Irkutsk Region, as well as published sources of the author’s personal archives, reveals a quite surprising result.
