Abstract

The article examines establishment and activity of jury trial in the history of Russia. It offers a new approach to specifying the date of the judicial reform, which resulted in the establishment of jury trial. The author considers the stages of preparation and adoption of the documents for the judicial reform. Implementation of the judicial reform is regarded in terms of the social and political situation in the country. The author characterizes the jury trial district courts.
