Abstract
The article examines «the three lives» of Transbaikalian Ataman G. M. Semyonov: 1) education, duty journey to Mongolia and the First World War 2) revolution and the Civil War 3) emigration. On this way a tragedy of a personality, that took the path from hero to traitor, takes place.
