History of Establishment of Japanese Environmental Policy’s Major Principles

Abstract

The article examines the main stages of formation of sustainable development concept in environmental policy of Japan, with emphasis on international activity of the country as a recognized leader in environmental technologies. This paper analyzes the role of Japan in establishment of East Asian regional environmental system, examining hardships that country faced while participating in global and regional projects.
