The article is devoted to the activities of the Expedition of preparation of state papers in Siberia during the Civil war. The history of the financial policy of the Siberian authorities is little studied in the literature. Even less coverage was given to the participation of prisoners of war of the First World war in the economic activities of the region. The article attempts to present the participation of prisoners of war in the Siberian emission activity in 1919–1920 on the basis of new factual material. There are two stages: Omsk from October 1918 to November 1919, associated with the release of “Siberian” money for the Kolchak government, and Irkutsk from its evacuation to Irkutsk in November 1919 until its final liquidation in may 1921, when the main task was the release of paper money for the needs of the Soviet government in Siberia and credit cards for the newly formed far Eastern Republic. The main attention is paid to the emission activity of the Expedition in Irkutsk, as well as the role played in the implementation of the state order for the production of cash by prisoners of war engaged in the most complex and skilled work.
