Shown the dramatic story of the first historical-philological faculty of Irkutsk state University 1918–1920 Created thanks to the public, businessmen and officials of the first in Eastern Siberia and the far East University, at the time of its establishment consisted of two faculties: law and the already mentioned histfile. Despite the constant change of political power in the region due to the civil war, the University and its faculties were successfully functioning and rapidly developing. Established in the Irkutsk province in 1920.the Soviet government, represented by its political leadership, considered the existence of historical and philological faculties unnecessary, and it was eliminated.
