The article uses the example of I. D. Yakushkin and his epistolary heritage to concretize the issue of relations between the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia N. N. Muravyov and the Decembrists exiled. It presents also I. D. Yakushkin's assessments regarding N. N. Muravyov's policies in the Amur Region.
