Metric Books of the Synagogue of the City of Irkutsk about the Dead as a Historical Source

Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the collection of metric books of the Irkutsk synagogue for the period of 1878–1920, which is stored in the State Archive of the Irkutsk region. Particular attention is paid to the collection of metric books of the dead from 1900 to 1919. The information presented in the books is the most important source for the reconstruction of the life of the Irkutsk Jewish community.
