The Irkutsk State University Museum: Lost Opportunities or New Chances to Regenerate Traditions?

Abstract
The article considers peculiarities of the formation of the Irkutsk State University Museum in the 1970–1980s. Moreover it reflects the contribution of its founder V. V. Svinin in the development of the Museum. Moreover, the main causes of the decline of the Museum in the 1990s are considered. The author deduces that this structure has to be regenerated in the University's system.
