The First in Siberia: To the 80th Anniversary of the Irkutsk Dissertation Council in History

Abstract
The review gives a positive assessment of the monograph, which represents the 80- year development of the Dissertation Council in Historical Sciences at the ISU. The authors examined the history of the Council in the context of the state policy implementation in the field of science and education. The monograph presents a broad biographical base, supplemented by personal memoirs of council members. It is highlighted that the authors have convincingly proved the leading role of the Council in the training of highly qualified personnel for the Siberian region.
