The Historical Experience of the PRC in Resettling Youth
in Border, Rural and Mountainous Areas (1950–1970)

Abstract
The article presents the history of the resettlement of Chinese youth from cities to border,
rural, mountainous areas and territories inhabited by ethnic minorities during the implementation of
the strategy of regional leveling and balanced development of the PRC from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The mechanism for the resettlement of young workers contributed to solving the problems of unemployment in cities and ensured socialist construction throughout the country.
