N. N. Muravyov and Imperial Approaches to Managing

Abstract
Change in the middle of the 19th century. The foreign policy and foreign economic situation on the eastern borders of Russia set the government the task of consolidating the Far Eastern
possessions within the empire. The fulfillment of this mission was entrusted to the young ambitious
Governor-General N. N. Muravyov (later Count of Amursky). Over the course of ten years, a talented administrator ensured not only the return of the right bank of the Amur River to Russia, but also
the development of a system management, ensuring a strong connection between this remote region
and Russia.
