Abstract
When international contacts are formed, an idea of the life of other peoples, the similarities and differences of cultures gradually begins to form. In East Asia, during the formation of the first states on the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese Islands (3rd–7th centuries), the processes of interaction and mutual perception enter the stage of active development. The analysis of ancient East Asian chronicles (Chinese, Korean and Japanese) conducted within the framework of this article allows us to see how the peoples of East Asia perceived each other, assessing the level of development of political culture, features of everyday life and other aspects.
