Abstract
The article presents previously unknown information about Dmitry Davydov. He was a high-ranking official of the Siberian government, who served as chairman of the Irkutsk and Yenisei provincial governments in the 1880s and 1890s. For the first time, archival materials from the collections of the State Archive of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (F. 141, F. 595) made it possible to establish the facts of the biography and work of D. Davydov and members of his family (wife and daughter). An analysis of the epistolary heritage of the Siberian elite of the 19th century confirmed his friendly ties with prominent personalities – the artist V. Surikov, the public figure V. Sukachev, Archpriest V. Kasyanov. Various historical sources and archival documents from the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg (F.R-957, R-5165) have provided us with historical information about the life of the Siberian elite in Central Russia before the Revolution (1917) and during the early Soviet period.
