The Participation of the Decembrists in the Life of Church Parishes During their Exile in Siberia

Abstract
The article examines the relationship between the exiled Decembrists and the representatives of the clergy in Siberia. It analyzes the specific features of this relationship, which were influenced by the Decembrists' exile and their individual attitudes towards religion and the church. The article also highlights their involvement in the improvement and decoration of local churches, as well as their participation in mandatory religious ceremonies, which had a significant impact on the public opinion of the local population. The article pays attention to the use of parish registers as sources that provide additional information about the social circle of the Decembrists and the attitudes of their fellow villagers towards them, as well as allowing for a better understanding of important events in the lives of the Decembrists.
