Ecclesiastical Missions of the Yenisei Diocese (Late 19th – Early 20th Century). Part 1

Abstract
The study focuses on the activities of the spiritual missions of the Yenisei Diocese in the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century. It highlights the specific living conditions, differences in the organization and evolution of the northern and southern missionary branches, and examines the activities of the Yenisei Diocesan Committee of the Orthodox Missionary Society, the level of church attendance among the indigenous peoples of the missionary parishes, and the educational and cultural work of the missionaries. The study identifies the main reasons for the failure of the spiritual missions and proposes measures for their reform.
