The Development of Private Charity in Irkutsk:
Dynamics of Quantitative Indicators (Using Donations
to the Governor-General as an Example). 1862–1901

Abstract
Based on the lists “On the acceptance of donations from various persons” introduced into
scientific circulation, statistics on charitable donations transferred to the jurisdiction of the GovernorGeneral in Irkutsk and the Irkutsk province for the period 1862–1901 are presented for the first time.
The dynamics of the social composition of donors, the volume of donated capital, and the frequency
of donations over the specified period were revealed.
