On the History of the Relocation of the Newspaper Vostochnoe Obozrenie (Eastern Review) to Irkutsk

Abstract
The article examines the distinctive way in which the circumstances and motives behind the relocation of the newspaper Vostochnoe Obozrenie (Eastern Review) from St. Petersburg to Irkutsk are reflected in the letters of the Siberian journalist and editor Nikolai M. Yadrintsev to his wife A. F. Yadrintseva and his mother-in-law A. I. Barkova. The study refines our understanding of the conditions under which newspaper publishing was organized and conducted in Siberia, the specific features of editorial work, and the newspaper’s economic situation.
