Abstract
Sources of information and methods of materials presentation in connection with Japanese – Chinese war, 1894–1895 and the Boxer rebellion having been analyzed in Irkutsk Provincial
News. The reason for rising interest towards China was Russian politics activation in the Far East,
proximity of Irkutsk region to Chinese military developments, the issue of yellow threat.
