Nation at the Crossroads: the Buryat Pan-Mongolism in the Context of Geopolitical Opposition of Russia and Japan

Abstract

In the article considered the tactics of the Buryat democrats in the Panmongolian movement, pursuing the policy proceeding from a social and political situation. The ambiguity, vagueness of the Buryat people’s future and its autonomy within the Russian state which is torn apart by class fight and Civil war forced to look for finding of own statehood by association of the Mongolian peoples. The author pays considerable attention to positions of Japan, actively using the ideas of Panmongolism and strengthened the aggressive policy on the Asian continent. Both processes of creation the uniform Panmongolian state, and the reason of his insolvency are analyzed in this article.
