Abstract
The authors consider formation and development of the «Decembrists and Taras Shevchenko» issue. The article suggests periodization of the problem, its formation in socioeconomic and political development of the Soviet Union, and further in the independent states, formed after the 1990. Quantitative indicators of the problem are given, the main directions of scientific and journalistic coverage of certain issues are shown, and areas for future development are identified.
