Abstract
The article focuses on the role and contribution of the public in the development of agricultural education and propaganda of agronomic knowledge in Transbaikalia. It is concluded that the public was essential in the formation of agricultural education, accumulated progressive methods of economy, and introduced elements of self-organization and self-education into agronomical education.
