The author analyzes the main areas of activity of «Bratskgesstroy», one of the most powerful construction organizations in the second half of the 1980s – 1990s. The tust activity was not restained by construction of power engeneering facilities, as the trust appeared to be the prime contractor for the integrated development of the territory. In the early 1990s, the «Bratskgesstroy» directory realized restructuring that led to independent activity of structural subdivisions, cantractual arrangements between structural units and so on. Once the financing was stopped and the former purpose-oriented programs were rejected, the followed privatisation destroyed the integral structure and led to the bankruptcy of the structural subdivisions. Thousands od worker were out of a job, lots of social infrastructure facilities of the trust were short of financing. Staff reduction resulted in outward migration flow from the region.
