Abstract
The article deals with the 60-th anniversary of the birth of the Irkutsk historian Professor Yu. A. Petrushin, and gives the description of main periods in his life and scientificresearch activity. Besides it examines the principle areas of his scientific-research activity: historiography and methodology of Hational History, History of Siberian village, Soviet State's repressive policy etc.
