Abstract
S. A. Arbitman wrote several biographical works like «What is past, is past», «Sasha, Sashenka, Alexander». The excerpts, included in the article, are taken from S. A. Arbitman’s biographical memoirs “While We Were Young” which cover the author’s studentship, spent in Irkutsk in the late 1950s – the early 1960s.
