Abstract

Russian radical-pacifist movement was formed at the end of the XIXth century as a result of political awareness of Tolstoyans, who proclaimed themselves as “free peasants” or a “free-religious” movement. Although the first leaders were from privileged and noble classes, the main supporting element for the movement was dissident peasants.
