Abstract

The article investigates refugees and evacuation as two main forms of forced migrations of civil society from eastern regions of Russia in 1918–1922. The author analyzes approximate quantitative data of the race at different stages of Civil war and points out that the forced migration turned into mass downward vertical mobility, as well as deteriorated inhabitants’ conditions in receiving regions, producing downward mobility outside.
