Abstract

The range of the activity of the professor and surgeon V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky is viewed through the amount of evacuation hospitals in the rear of the Krasnoyarsk territory and Krasnoyarsk city during the difficult years of the great Patriotic war (1941–1943). Publications during the thirty-year period (1988–2017) were selected. Knowledge gaps in the topic were highlighted that hindered a comprehensive consideration of the hard work of the hospitals deep in the rear and selfless work of V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky, who played a key role in the surgical, scientific and advisory work of the hospitals of the Krasnoyarsk region. The problem of finding ways to determine the number and location of evacuation hospitals was resolved which helped to identify the scope of V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky's activity as a surgeon-consultant in the rescue of the wounded soldiers and officers of the Red Army who arrived in Krasnoyarsk Krai. For the first time based on the information from the new archival sources there has been known the exact number of evacuation hospitals (together with buildings) deployed in the Krasnoyarsk region and Krasnoyarsk city in the war years that allowed us to see new ways for further study of the homefront healthcare of the Krasnoyarsk region inextricably connected with Professor V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky.
