Abstract

In the article analyzes the terrorist attacks in the city of Irkutsk in the period of the formation and development of the revolutionary movement and the first Russian revolution. The content of individual acts is verified with the semantic content of the term “terror” (at the beginning of the 20th century) for their conformity. Based on this, terrorist acts were differentiated into two groups: those that are in accordance with the semantic content of the term and classified as terrorist in a “theoretical” sense, due to incomplete compliance with the stated criteria. A total of 11 acts were analyzed that qualify as terrorist acts within the city of Irkutsk. Of these, only 7 are attributed to those as corresponding to the semantic content of the term “terror”. The remaining 4 are classified as “theoretical”, since only certain elements of the investigated incidents are of a “terrorist” nature.
