Abstract

On the eve of the anniversary of Victory day, it is customary to remember the heroes who fell on the battlefields, the generals who led their troops to victory. The article is devoted to one of the commanders of the great Patriotic war, who just before its beginning was released from the dungeons of the NKVD. A participant of the Civil war, order-bearer, brigade commander, head of one of the Kiev military schools, he was arrested in 1938 on charges of committing political crimes. For three years he was under investigation and, despite the efforts of NKVD investigators, was not broken. The charges against him were groundless and the arrested brigade commander was released from prison, then reinstated in the army. For his military work during the war, he was awarded orders, received the rank of General, in fact proved his devotion to his Homeland. Documents from the Central archive of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation allow to get acquainted with the biography of this military leader.
