Author(s)

Abstract

The article studied the activities of Soviet diplomat Otto Ivanovich Makstenek. He was illegally repressed in 1938 and undeservedly forgotten in history. Makstenek worked as an authorized representative of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs of the RSFSR in Mongolia in 1920–1921. The authors found that he played an important role in organizing the national liberation movement, preparing and implementing the 1921 revolution.
