Abstract
This article examines the materials of the Siberian History Laboratory archive as a historical source in the context of oral history, biography, as well as memoirs. The features caused by the period of recording the memories of old-timers during historical and ethnographic expeditions are revealed: insufficient technical provision, focus on the factual component, thematic priorities. Diaries of students participating in expeditions are considered as an independent type of source. It is concluded that the materials of the archive of the Siberian History Laboratory have a significant source potential and can be used for research on various issues.
