Abstract
The article describes contents and methods of material presenting about the crises, being evident in gold-mining industry at the edge 19-20 centuries, in official and informal press. The authors pay attention at insufficiently studied gold-mining problems – changes in taxation rules and labour conditions of middle level employees. Research of informal press position on gold-mining problems enabled to come to the conclusion: oppositional press supported measures directed by the Government and devoted to industry difficulties overcoming, stated as reasonable.
