Abstract
This article is devoted to the role of the Kyakhta merchant I.D. Sinitsyn in the development of Russian-Mongolian economic relations and the promotion of imperial interests in the countries of Inner Asia; his contribution to the formation of the banking system, the expansion of entrepreneurial activity, the spread of education and enlightenment in Western Transbaikalia is analyzed.
