Abstract
The article examines the activities of the Soviet military intelligence agencies in Manchuria from the beginning of the partisan movement until the end of World War II, with an emphasis on counterintelligence operations against Japanese troops and their allies. The study highlights key aspects of the interaction of Soviet intelligence structures with local partisan detachments, which became an important tool in the fight against the Japanese occupation. The article analyzes in detail the methods and tactics used by Soviet military intelligence to identify and neutralize Japanese spies, and examines the role of these operations in ensuring the security of Soviet troops in the Far East. Particular attention is paid to the successful operations to capture Japanese officers, who played an important role in obtaining strategically important information about the plans and movements of the enemy. The influence of this data on the success of Soviet operations, as well as on the subsequent defeat of Japanese troops, is considered. In addition, the article analyzes the interaction of Soviet intelligence with other allied intelligence services and the use of the experience accumulated in Manchuria for the further development of counterintelligence activities in the post-war period. The study is based on archival materials, documents and recollections of participants in the events, which allows for a deeper understanding of the strategic and tactical aspects of Soviet intelligence activities in Manchuria. The work is of great importance for historians and military intelligence specialists, as it reveals little-studied pages of the USSR's activities in the Far East and emphasizes the importance of counterintelligence activities in ensuring national security during wartime.
