The article analyses a monograph by Mamkina I. N. related to the development of the general education system in Eastern Siberia in the second half of the XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries. It emphasizes contribution to the studies on such problems as development of the regional system of general education, modernization of the general education system, staff assistance and its aspects. It analyzes resources and historiographical section of the monograph. The article provides recommendation for futher developments on the subject.
