Yakut Regional Heads and Their Inner Circle (the First Half of the 19th Century)

Abstract

The effective management of the remote and vast Yakutsk Oblast in the first half of the XIX century depended not only on the correctly chosen official as a regional head, but also on his entourage. The great importance was the relation of Yakut regional head with his closest assistants, such as advisers and officials on special assigments. This article is devoted to the characterization and analysis of these relations.
